Once upon a time there were two students at Brown University. Eunice was an economics concentrator from Singapore and Julie was an aspiring chemical engineer from Eastern Kentucky. Each unaware of the other’s existence, they searched high and low for a good elective and both ended up in the same entrepreneurship class. With a secret admiration for each other’s pink and white coats and a brief exchange of ideas, they knew that they were a team.

Eunice’s travels with female friends confirmed her suspicions that she was not alone in her underwear issues. She had an “aha!” moment and shared the idea with her team. Thus, the Eulie brainchild—the idea of functional lingerie—was born. To see if there was demand for such a product, the team posted surveys on the inside of busy women’s bathroom stalls around Brown’s campus. The team’s favorite comment: “Holy Shit. Please make these!” With the help of a textile expert, an inspirational professor, and endless meetings at Au Bon Pain, Eulie was brought to life.

When “The Underwear Girls” (as Eunice and Julie had become known around campus) graduated and departed Brown’s campus in May 2009, they by no means left Eulie behind with that lovely cafeteria food and those fantastic late nights in the libraries. Since that first entrepreneurship class, Eunice and Julie won the 2008 Rhode Island Elevator Pitch Competition, were finalists in the 2009 Rhode Island Business Plan Competition, were featured in numerous publications, established Eulie LLC, and received support and feedback from women (and men) young and old. They’ve filed provisional and full patent applications on Sexy Period underwear, because—let’s be honest—with technology as awesome as this you’ve got to protect your goods!

As Eulie continued to grow and develop, Eunice was presented with an amazing opportunity. Because of her ever-present passion for music and performance, the chance to star in a production of Rent was a break she couldn’t turn down. Currently, Eunice is pursuing stardom at McNally Smith College of Music (she’s gonna be famous!!)  and Julie has taken the core leadership role of the company (she’s gonna be famous too!!).

With over 40 combinations of fabric tested and upwards of 200 prototype pairs of panties mailed out to testers, Eulie has finally found the golden panty and laid the first brick of its underwear empire!

Created with the support and services of many local New England suppliers, Eulie’s Sexy Period panty is the gotta-have-it piece of any woman’s wardrobe. Right now Eulie is in the final design steps of Sexy Period panties (we know, we’re as excited as you are)! Keep up to date on company developments and other panty adventures by following Eulie’s blog, Facebook page, and Tweets!
